Baby Twilight the pegasus by Woosie Baby Twilight the pegasus by Woosie
This my little pony custom was made from a G1 Baby Tappy that was in horrendous condition. I removed what was left of her hair and symbols (which wasn't much), cleaned her up really well, then proceeded to reroot her mane and tail with Katsilk hair in white and purple. The wings were then hand sculpted over a wire base that is secured in the pony's back with Apoxie Clay, the horn was made in the same manner. I then painted the wings, horn, eyes and symbols with acrylics and sealed them.

I made all the ponies in my gallery myself :) The body of the pony, just the plastic part, was bought and then I changed all the hair, added wings, horns, new symbols and new eyes myself.

Now thats adorable!!! I love her wings. I'd love an Angelberries like this one day.

On the subject of acetone, I stuck my WHOLE hand to my Angelberries custom with superglue, and I poured acetone on it to loosen the glue, and it worked well.

not saying that it's not good for some things, I had MANY good experiences with it on ponies...but then I also had a couple of TERRIBLE experiences with it (ie: instant melting of a Baby Glory) that killed any confidence I have in the chemical ;)

Mind you, it freaking stinks! I wouldn't want to remove nail varnish off my own nails with it, would you? there would be no nail left!! haha

Nice! By the way, how do you remove those old symbols on the G1s? I'm working with one, but the symbol she has won't match the theme I wanted to work with (it's a gusty unicorn I wish to give a Ice/Winter theme to).

The best stuff I've found to use to get them off is simply laquer thinner on a rag :) You can get it in any wal-mart's hardware section or a hardware store. It's less damaging on the plastic than the acetone that a lot of other people use. I once melted a pony with acetone so won't ever use that again, lol.

She's definately not the first, I have a couple on my website, but for the most part I just use G3's...feel less guilty about customizing new readily available cheap ponies than the G1's that will never be replaced and are kind of a pain to get in a condition that I will customize (since I don't do full body repaints the body has to be NICE but the rest wrecked).

I see, I have to check your web when I have more time ;)

You have tried G2's?

Diana Arcuri makes some lovely G2 customs ^-^

No, no G2's yet. I plan to in the future, but the other day when I decided to give one a whirl the entire neck ring seperated when just trying to gently remove the head...so it kind of killed my enthusiasm, lol.

XD maybe the little necks are more delicate that they look.

Something like that happened whit a Florsytia from the used toy store, but she has super glue for the moment until my sculp arrives since a part of her neck outside got ripped too.

Can you belive she had car oil inside!!! O-o and a nasty tail rust.
