Wintry River little pony by Woosie Wintry River little pony by Woosie
Being that I live in South East Texas I'm totally obsessed with the idea of winter and snow. I've never seen REAL snow in my life that I'm able to remember (though I have seen a video of me playing in snow that's about 1" deep back when I was like 4...I don't remember it though, lol). One of these days I'm going to fly my butt up to Colorado or somewhere snowy during the winter and see some REAL snow! Anyway, because of this I adore art with snowy landscapes and wintry scenes. This little pony was made from a G3 My Little Pony named Toola Roola that I rerooted with Katsilk hair in Platinum White and Sky Blue. This is an older pony of mine so the eyes were not repainted. I painted a couple of snowflakes on the front display hoof (that I don't care for now that I look at the pony after so long) and I sculpted a snowy river/mountain scene on the rear. It was then painted in acrylics and sealed. If I was able to redo this pony I think I'd leave off the foot symbol and repaint the eyes an icey blue color. Other than that I'm quite pleased with the result.

Unless you like cold weather you aren't missing anything with the snow deal. its miserable and I know what you mean. I visit Texas frequently and live in Alabama, I hadnt seen snow until 2011 it got pretty deep lasted a week of going NOWHERE and everything being shut down. I was a mess by the end of that week, i'm sure towns that are prepared and used to snow might be some better but i'll take my warm weather and stuff over a snowy day.

As a Canadian, living in a province where its winter about 8 months of the year, I can say this:

You are missing alot. Snow is wonderful. Sledding, skiing, Hockey, Skating outside, Winter fires, Ah, Its nice. The cold is harsh though. We sometime have to send out ambulances around the city to pick up the homeless to prevent them from freezing to death. The coldest I remember in recent memory was -38C (Thats -36.7 Fahrenheit for you americans.)

Im so sorry you haven't seen snow.

That Pony is amazing. Im surprised managed to cram so much into such a tiny amount of area.

Oh my... that's just amazing. It reminds me of my childhood
when I played with My Little Ponies and actually liked winter.

Having to deal with it for so long, and being having a
somewhat reptilian inner thermostat, I'm not much of a fan of
winter. But it is quite aesthetically pleasing to look at, especially
on the rump of this pony.

Great work!

Ooh, she's pretty. :) You can have all of my snow when it comes. I'm not very, fond of it now. I loved it when I was a kid, it sometimes meant days off of school and building snow forts and pelting neighbourhood kids with snowballs. Now it just means having to drive very carefully and making sure you don't break a leg trying to walk across an icy parking lot. I do still like it when it's falling though, there's just this lovely feeling of quiet, solitude, and purity that you just don't get with any other weather.

I was born and lived in Houston for 11yrs, we did get snow once ( :XD: )
but after we moved to the westen hill country is when I got to see snow more. Of course now that I some how ended up in KS, I see lots of snow :dead:

your really talented with paints x.x; I wish I could do landscapes like that

I've only lived here in Houston for about 3 years or so. I grew up down in the swamps of SE Texas on the border with Louisiana and it never snowed there that I can remember. When I moved over here to Houston I'd hear stories of snow but never got my hopes up, then last year (or was it the year before that?) on Christmas eve it snowed pretty heavy here for a little bit....but of course I was down in my hometown visiting family! Grrr!

lol I think it snows ever 11yrs in houston or so I was told. I was 4 when it snowed when I was there (well I lived in Katy). XD I don't miss the heat though! I never could stand hot weather really, though I don't think I ever really complained in Katy, over west of Austin now I did complain a lot about the heat.
lol shutting up now ^^;

This is like the coolest thing ever! I'd like to see the animators of the show pull off this little pony ^^

My jaw drops at the art on the rear, but I love how fine the hair is =o
